Is it fair to mention Kobe’s low FG%, considering he faces the toughest defensive assignments in the entire league?
Watch a Lakers game and pay attention to the double/triple teams on Kobe and the amount of contact he receives every time he touches the ball.

Kobe can shoot at 50 percentage if he wants too, but he takes many bail out shots(shot clock winding down). Also since Kobe is deadly on offense, teams are focus on him that when he miss, it allows Byum and Gasol for an easy rebound and put back. I have seen countless times Bynum and Gasol getting easy rebound because the focus of defense is Kobe. So Kobe shooting even when he is doubled could be part of strategy as it allow Kobe’s team mates for an easy rebound.
Another thing unlike Lebron (remember his check my stats shirt?), Kobe does not care about stats, all he wants is to win.
I do watch the games, and what I see is 17 seconds left on the shot clock, Pau and Fisher WIDE OPEN, and Kobe teamed at the 3 point line.
Yet, Kobe still jacks up the 3 instead of distributing, you CAN blame him for that.
Look at Lebron, he gets double/triple teamed very often, and sometimes has low score games.
Wanna know the difference between them 2? When Lebron is being guarded well he and scores low(like 10 points a game), he usually has has 8-12 assists on 5-7 shooting.
When Kobe scores 10 points, he does it on 5-18 shooting, and has like 4 assists.
Yea, but other superstars recieves double/triple teams too and they don’t shoot as low as Kobe. Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant, Lebron, and Chris Paul all get defensive attention from the opposing team but shoot at a higher flg%. The thing with Kobe is he forces a lot shots and in general has bad shot selection.
I think the only reason why he takes bad shots is because he feels like he can draw a foul when he’s shooting but sometimes they’re not called so it looks like he’s forcing shots
If he is triple teamed he should pass. Which he doesn’t do as much as he should.

“Cant stop the heat” explained it well.
watch a game and see all the bad shot selection he makes.
