Did You Remember Lebron James Had One Of The Most Clutch…?

By NBA Rumors Posted in: LeBron James

…playoff performances of all time?
When he scored 29 of his teams final 30 in regulation/OT? In game 5 of a tied series in the eastern conference finals?
It’s like it doesn’t even matter now.
BQ: Is Lebron clutch or a choker? Is there a gray area?

  1. Kibby Says

I don’t know of a better clutch performance (May be T-Mac 13 pts in 33 sec but that’s in the reg season)
    BQ: Clutch.

  2. Eddie Says

I do not think it is a gray matter, That particular game is one of the best playoff performance of any player in the history of the playoffs when you considered that they won. Jordan had a incredible playoff performance against the Celtics in which he score 63 points but they loss. Kobe had not had a playoff game like that in that particular situation that could have easily sway how that series would have turn out.
That next year, Lebron game 7 against the Celtics was another phenomenal performance by Lebron and it came down to the big 3 was too much for Lebron but that game 7 was a classic and Lebron had a great game that game.
as far as your question about Lebron a choker or not, everyone has bad game or bad streaks and Lebron quite frankly have not had an outstanding finals yet. When he took a bunch of nobodies to the finals with the Cavs the Spurs were double and tripling Lebron and the other players did not make their open shots. the next year that the Cavs played the Celtics, they took the Celtics to a 7th game and the Celtics was at home for that 7th game and the Cavs lost by 5 and once again Lebron went against the Big 3 and this is also the year the the Celtics beat the Lakes in 6 games.
But I look at a player like Kobe, kobe game 7 two years ago against the Celtics Kobe had a horrible shooting game 7 but Gasol was clutch in the 4th and was grabbing key rebound. That particular game Kobe choked but Gasol had his back. A year earlier, another game 7 with the Lakers and the Rockets and once again Kobe had a bad shooting game and once again Gasol came to the rescue.
Th point I am trying to say is that if there were someone that had Lebron back when he struggled then we would not be talking about if Lebron is clutched or not.
One last thing, The Cavs would not have had the best record in the league those last two years if Lebron was not able to finish games.

  3. . Says

Yes. I was watching that game!
It’s funny how people cherry-pick instances of LeBron not prevailing when he’s had just as many clutch performances as non-clutch ones. Look at how he closed out Boston and Chicago last year too.
BQ: I think he’s just “average” in terms of clutch-ness. This year he’s been average in the 4th, but by no means has he been bad.
Edit: this is one of the ONLY logical, non-hating discussions I have ever seen in this section regarding LeBron…

  4. In LeBron We Trust™ Says

Lebron Haters out there that are so quick to hate on him. For every little thing. they are too narrow minded to admit he is clutch, Anybody who appreciates the game will acknowledge how important he is in facilitating everything on the Heat team: while those that define clutch as only making shots at the end of games are square. clutch could be other team is making a big run and the player takes over or making a big defensive play at a critical point in the game.
Which Lebron has done numerous times last year
    BQ: The King is clutch

  5. Anonymous Says

In my opinion, Lebron is the best player in the game today. After he left Cleveland, the hate spread for no true reason and after his struggles people just assume he isn’t clutch. I think he is clutch and just needs an opportunity to prove himself again.

  6. Click™ Celtics! Says

People will say anything to discredit Lebron. Don’t let it get to you. He was affected by the MAvs Zone Defense. LEt me point out that Kobe was affected by it too in 2008 vs Celtics. Let’s not call Kobe clutch when he was bailed out by his team many times. Ron Artest putback vs Suns. Pau Gasol tip in vs OKC. All after Kobe’s miss on potential game winning shots. Against the Celtics, Kobe constantly missed 4th quarter shots with Gasol bailing him out with putbacks and Artest hitting a clutch 3.
    BQ: Clutch

  7. Mamba Says

Lol it’s funny how Lebron fans can only cite 2 games. I bet i can find 2 games where Scalabrene was clutch too.
So nope, he’s not clutch yet. And I think clutch refers more to shooting than driving to the hoop(which he has also misses ALOT of “clutch” lay ups). When he scores 6 game-winning SHOTS in one season like you know who, then he’ll be clutch son.

Yes, I still remember this buzzer beater…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fD1MNjkP…
    BQ: Gray area.

  10. Xiu Says

    great player forever

  11. Chillin’ (℃eltics) Says

No but i do remember lebron chocking every single game in the finals

  12. LeMario™ Says

People are being brainwashed by what the media says; don’t listen to the haters he’s clutch.
BQ: Clutch when he has his moments.
